9: Activate latest version of wordpress tooltip glossary plugin

10: Click “Tooltips” menu item

11: Click “Addons” sub menu item, you will open “Tooltip Addons Settings” panel

12: You will the addon “WikiPedia Tooltip”, in “Support WikiPedia Tooltip” option box, you can enable / disable wikipedia tooltips in here, it looks like this:

13: Then please back to your wordpress admin area and click “Tooltips” Menu item

14: Please click “Add new” sub menu item to open tooltip builder

15: When you edit tooltips in tooltips maker, you will find a new metabox “Wikipedia Title”, just enter the wikipedia title in the metabox, then we will pull wikipedia content of this wikipedia title from wikipedia.org as tooltip, it looks like this:

16: Of course, please don’t forget to input the tooltip title 🙂

17: Click “Publish” button in tooltip eitdor

18: In front end, when you hover the tooltip term in your wordpress post, you will find the content in tooltip pop-up box, is come from wikipedia.

Encyclopedia

As you can see in the above demo of the wikipedia tooltip, when you mouse over the wikipedia tooltip keyword term “encyclopedia”, the content of the wikipedia tooltip term is pulled from this Wikidpeia Article “encyclopedia” automatically 🙂

1: Login your account at wordpress tooltip plugin site tooltips.org

2: Download wordpress tooltip plugin via “download” menu item

3: Login as wordpress admin in your  wordpress site

4: Click “Plugins” menu item in wordpress admin area

5: If you installed wordpress tooltips old version, please deactivate it

6: Delete the deactivated old wordpress tooltip plugin

7: In “Plugins” menu item, click add new at the top of the plugins panel

8: Upload the tooltips plugin zip file which you downloaded from wordpress glossary plugin site

9: Activate latest version of wordpress tooltip glossary plugin

10: Click “Tooltips” menu item

11: Click “Global Settings” sub menu item, you will open “Global Settings” panel

12: You will find the option: “Enable Tooltips for Image?”, please enable it and click “Update Now” blue button

13: Then in “Tooltips for Image setting” option box, please set up to use ALT attribute in image as content of tooltip window, then click “Update Now” blue buttom

14: Please click wordpress “media” menu to open wordpress media library panel

15 Then click the card image which using in the magicards plugin, to edit the image, it looks like this:

16 In front end, in your magicards page, you will find when you mouse hover the card, a tooltip window will pop-up, and the alt text is the content of the tooltip window.

17 With magicards plugin, it is better to set up wordpress tooltip position as “topmiddle” for get best image tooltip effect, you can set up tooltip position by click tooltips style menu item, then you can custom tooltip posion,  it looks like this:

We received a user’s ticket, in which he asked us a question: I would like to be able to use the ‘Plain’ preset and own the ability of custom tooltip style, I guess maybe a few more users have the same question,I am happy to reply the question in here publicly:

How to Make a WordPress Tooltip Similar Color Schemes With WordPress Tooltip Preset Template?

By default, wordpress tooltip preset template cannot be customized, but it is easy to make a similar color schemes with preset template, for example, if you like “Plain” preset, please:
1: Login wordpress admin area
2: Click “Tooltips” Menu
3: Click “Tooltips Style” sub menu
4: In “Tooltip Box Customize Setting” panel, click “tooltip box background” color picker, in the pop up color window, use mouse to select a similar color, or just enter “#D9D9C2” directly in “select color” input box, then in “Tooltip Font Color” option box, select a color via mouse or just enter “#111111”, then you can enable shadow in “Tooltips Shadow” Option box… and so on, by this way you can custom a “Plain” preset 🙂
