Dear WordPress tooltip users, today I will tell you how to add custom WooCommerce tooltip effects to WooCommerce variations in WooCommerce variable products. 🙂  Yesterday we received a help request submitted by a woocommerce tooltip user:

We checked his screenshot, this is the first time we heard this kind of feature request, in general, woocommerce variation product is using woocommerce attributes too, so we think it should works well, but  as we all known, there are many users using a few kinds of 3rd woocomemrce plugins to build their woocommerce products, so we replied the user:

The Attributes are created using WooCommerce. The variation dropdowns are created using WooCommerce by Configuring Terms for the attribute. The attributes and the variations are then added to a product with WooCommerce. Third party plugin is not used.

Then our woocommerce tooltip developer build a development platform to installed woocommerce plugin, and create a few WooCommerce variable products, WooCommerce is a great ecommerce-shop plugin for wordpress, woocommerce allow to create variable products.  what is variable products? Woocommerce variable products allow shop owner create woocommerce products with variations, in general, when you sell a t-shirt or a car, then the t-shirt have multiple colors, many sizes… and so on,  with different  prices,customer can select colors or sizes from dropdown boxes, that’s woocommerce variable product. Basically, when you create a woocommerce variable product, you need create attributes and variations in woocommerce product editor.

3: Login wordpress site as admin

4: Upload the wordpress tooltips pro plus zip file, install  and activate wordpress tooltip plugin.

5: After activated wordpress tooltips plugin, please click “Tooltips” menu item

6: Then you will find the “Addons” sub menu item, just click it, and you will be redirected to “Tooltips Addon Settings” panel, the panel looks like this:

7: As you can see, there are an option: “Enable / Disable Tooltips for WooCommerce Products”, just select “Enable Tooltips for WooCommerce” and please click the blue “Update Now” button to enable woocommerce tooltip addon.

11: In “Advanced WooCommerce Tooltips Addon Settings” panel, please enable “Tooltips for WooCommerce Product Attribute” option

12: In front end, when user view your woocommerce product, users will find the underline under woocommerce variations labels, you can custom color, style and you can add video / audio to help users understand difference of these variations, when user mouse hover the attribute label of variation dropdown box, wordpress tooltips window will popup automatically, you can add description for these variation options to help your user understand variation options better 🙂

So we understand what’s the real question the user’s looking for, we replied:

Sorry for any misunderstanding, in glossary table, each tooltip / glossary item has been added a link automatically, just like we show it in the glossary page demo https://tooltips.org/glossary-demo/ , if you click the tooltip / glossary item , you can open a dedicated glossary item page via the link.

I guess may be what you want is: in any tooltip item in wordpress pages(not only in glossary page), you hope not only display tooltips popup, you hope have a link to open a dedicated tooltip / glossary item page, if so we have an option to help admin enable a link to dedicated tooltip / glossary item page — the link is displayed at the bottom IN tooltips POPUP window, or let’s say — when users hover the tooltip term in wordpress page, the tooltip content will displayed in tooltip popup window, and under the tooltip content, we have a link that link to the detailed tooltip details page, you can enable / disable it in the tooltips admin panel, this feature has been realized in a few years before — wordpress tooltips pro version 8.7.6,  is it what you want?  🙂

I have set the settings in the tooltip template but i’m going issues. Here is a video of my settings.

Basically I want the text white not black. I have set this in the settings but it is not working.

I also do not want a boarder around my gif. I have set the settings to 0 but it does not let me save that setting as you can see if in the video.

Please note, at the top of the tooltips box customize settings panel, we have added a red note “all fields are required”. 🙂

The problem is because all option is “required field”, when you set up border width as “0”, the value 0 will not be accepted, actually you can set up it as 1, and then select border color as the same color of tooltip window background 🙂

We will try to develop a new version to allow users enter 0 in the future version 🙂

I plan on having some kind of pattern in the background of my image so setting the color doesn’t really work unfortunately… Is there a way to remove it with CSS? It seems silly you cannot set the value to 0.

14: After customized the tooltip color and tooltip component’s  value for the specific tooltip,  in the front end, you will find wordpress tooltip pop-up box border will works like what you customized in tooltip style settings panel.

I am happy to report you, we just released wordpress tooltip glossary plugin 12.9.8, changes in this version:
1: We developed a license management module for wordpress tooltip plugin, this is just a start, we will continue add more features in the wordpress tooltip license module 🙂
2:  For MultiSite License Users, wordpress multisite license plugin star to support SVG icon tooltips, an amazing user told us, it is 2020s started in the world, we should support tooltips for SVG icons, SVG icons defined vector-based icons in XML format, it is super easy to edit all things for the SVG icons, for example,  color, animate… and so on, SVG Icons, is  a block of code, so the sizes of SVG icons is very small, he do not want to use PNG or JPEG icons on his site, he start use SVG and it improved his site and his life 🙂
Okay, the problem is wordpress do not support SVG, wordpress do not allow to upload SVG icons at all, we used a few days to learn the new tech in SVG area, now with wordpress tooltip multisite license plugin, you can upload SVG icons in wordpress and add tooltips for SVG Icons, a simple example of SVG tooltips can be find in below:

Based on user’s amazing feature request, we have released wordpress tooltip glossary plugin 12.0.0, in this version, wordpress tooltip plugin support enable / disable “Select Glossary Category” dropbox in glossary archives page, if you upgrade to wordpress tooltip glossary plugin 12.0.0, in “Glossary Settings” panel, you will find we have added new option “Support Select Glossary Category in Glossary Archives Page” in here, it looks like this:

If you enabled the option “Support Select Glossary Category in Glossary Archives Page”, we will show a “select glossary category” select box at  the top of the glossary archives page, you can select glossary category to filter the result of glossary terms, it looks like this:
