How to Custom Languages for Your WordPress Tooltips and WordPress Glossary

Hey Users of WordPress Tooltip Glossary,

We get a ticket about languge from an amazing user, we think may be there are more users have the similar question, we’d like reply in here publicly 🙂

With wordpress tooltip plugin, we have glossary page, also you can use our wordpress glossary shortcode to custom your own glossary language, in these wordpress glossary page,  we listed all glossary of terms, in general, tooltip authors will make glossary terms  with their own language, but wordpress tooltip glossary labels is generated by our wordpress glossary plugin, some users hope change these wordpress tooltip glossary labels with their own language too 🙂 In wordpress tooltip plugin, we support wordpress multiple languages, we have a tooltip glossary language addon, in which you can custom languages for your wordpress glossary a-z navigation words, glossary 1-9 navigation numbers, glossary bread crumbs, wordpress glossary category, or more words like “More Details” in wordpress tooltip pop-up box… and so on, these language changes will works well in all our wordpress glossary templates in our wordpress glossary plugin. 🙂

How to Custom Languages for Your WordPress Tooltips and WordPress Glossary?

1: If you didn’t installed wordpress tooltip, please login your account at wordpress glossary tooltip plugin site, if you have installed wordpress tooltip plugin, please jump to step #10 directly 🙂

2: Download wordpress glossary tooltip plugin at “My account” page

3: Login wordpress admin area

4: Click “Plugins” menu item

5: Deactivated old tooltips version

6: Delete the old wordpress tooltip plugin

7: In “Plugins” menu item, click add new at the top of the plugins panel

8: Upload the tooltips plugin zip file which you downloaded from wordpress glossary plugin site

9: Activate latest version of wordpress tooltip glossary plugin

10: Click “Tooltips” menu item

11: Click “Addons” sub menu item, you will open “WordPress Tooltip Addons” panel, it looks like this:

12: In “WordPress Tooltip Addons” panel, you will find “Enable/Disable Tooltips Language Customization Addon” Panel, please just select “Enable Tooltips Language Customization Addon”  option and click “Update Now” button to enable “Languages” addon, and please refresh the page.

13 Then you will find “Languages”  sub menu item under “Tooltips” menu item, please click “Languages” sub menu item

14 Now you will open “Custom Language of Tooltip and Glossary Panel”, it looks like this:

15 You can custom any words with your own language in here, please don’t forget to click “Submit” buttons 🙂

16 If you are  custom glossary languages, you need enable custom language in glossary settings panel, you can do it by this way:

17 Click “Glossary Settings” sub menu item under “Tooltips” menu item, you will open “Glossary Setitngs” panel,

18 In “Glossary Settings” panel, you will find our wordpress language selector: “Glossary Customize Language” options panel, it looks like this:

19 Please select “Custom My Language” optin in “Language” option box, and then click “Save Changes” blue button at the bottom of the glossary settings panel

20 In front end, in your wordpress glossary page, all words you customized in our wordpress language plugin will be changed as your own language

How to Build a SVG Tooltip?

In this document, I will help you to use SVG tooltip in wordpress  tooltip just a few minutes 🙂

What is SVG?

SVG stands for Scalable Vector Graphics, SVG is an XML-based vector graphics format used to display a variety of graphics on the Web and in other environments.

What is Tooltip?

Based on description of WordPress Tooltip: Tooltips are small popup box with more information like video /  audio / image / google maps / QR code / text… and so, tooltips box will pop up when users hover over an element in your pages, the element can be a word in your post, a search form input box, an image in your page, a widget on your sidebar.. and so on, wordpress tooltip plugin supports add tooltip effect on any element on the wordpress posts.

How to Make a SVG Tooltip in WordPress?

SVG is becoming more and more popular, most major browsers already support SVG. with SVG you can build faster and pretty icons quickly, many users use SVG create many pretty icons, so how about use your pretty SVG icons and Tooltip to create a SVG icon tooltip?
With WordPress Tooltip Plugin, it is very easy to create SVG tooltip:

1: If you didn’t installed wordpress tooltip, please login your account at wordpress glossary tooltip plugin site, if you have installed wordpress tooltip plugin, please jump to step #10 directly 🙂

2: Download wordpress tooltip plugin at “My account” page

3: Login wordpress as wordpress admin

4: After logged in wp-admin, please click “Plugins” menu item in wordpress back end

5: Deactivated old tooltips version

6: Delete the old wordpress tooltip plugin

7: In “Plugins” menu item, click add new at the top of the plugins panel

8: Upload the tooltips plugin zip file which you downloaded from wordpress glossary plugin site

9: Activate latest version of wordpress tooltip glossary plugin

10: Click “Tooltips” menu item

11: Click “Addons” sub menu item, you will open “WordPress Tooltip Addons” panel

12: At the bottom of the WordPress Tooltip Addons panel, you will find Enable / Disable SVG Icon Tooltips option box, it looks like this:

13 Please select Yes to enable SVG Image Tooltips functionality.

14 Click “Update Now” blue button

15 Now you can start to upload SVG to your WordPress site, please note, by default, wordpress do not support SVG, so if you did not enable our “SVG Tooltips” addon, when you try to upload SVG images, wordpress will told you upload failed, after installed our plugin, wordpress svg support will be enabled by our wordpress tooltips plugin 🙂

16 When you write a post, just click “Add Media” button in your wordpress editor, to upload a SVG tooltip, it looks like this:

In front end, if you open glossary index page, you will find the underline color of glossary terms has been changed

17 In your wordpress posts, you can use tooltips short code to insert WordPress SVG Icons and add tooltip effect on these wordpress svg images, please check sample at below, we added SVG tooltip for each svg tooltip arrow:




it is very easy to use the wordpress tooltip short code to add tooltips on these wordpress svg logo, the shortcode  should looks like this:
That’s all, we get an user’s feedback: WordPress Tooltips is an amazing tooltip, I was use svg tooltip javascript to make svg tooltip, becase I cannot find a wordpress svg plugin, it is a hard work, after installed wordpress tooltip plugin,  it make the pretty & customizable SVG tooltip easily and it make my life more easier!

I am happy to report you, we just released WordPress Tooltips Glossary plugin multi-site license 13.4.4, in this version our wordpress tooltip multi-site license plugin start to support WikiPedia Tooltip 🙂

What is WikiPedia Tooltips?

We get many user’s ticket, they told us they want wikipedia tooltips, this is great feature request, our developer have re-developed our tooltips plugin to realize this amazing feature,  now you can just enter wiki title in tooltips editor, and in front end, when user mouse hover the wordpress tooltip term, they will see the content of tooltip from wikipedia term  in the tooltip popup box, it looks like this:

You can see when user mouse hover the tooltip term “Apple”, the content in tooltip box is come from WikiPedia , by this way, you can build your wordpress dictionary or wordpress glossary easily 🙂

How to Use WikiPedia Tooltips ?

It is very easy to use wikipedia tooltips:
1: Iin back end, if you check tooltips addons sub menu,  you will find we have added a new addon “WikiPedia Tooltip”, in “Support WikiPedia Tooltip” option box, you can enable /  disable wikipedia tooltips, it looks like this:

2: when you edit tooltips in tooltips editor, you will find metabox Wikipedia Title, just enter the wikipedia title, We will pull wikipedia content of this wikipedia title from wikipedia.org as tooltip, it looks like this:

Please just enter the wikipedia title in metabox, then we will use the wikipedia content as tooltip content for the current tooltip terms, if the term have no content in wikipedia, in the tooltip popup box, we will use your tooltips content in the tooltip editor.

WordPress Tooltips Glossary Plugin 13.3.4 Released

We received a few user’s support ticket, in tickets, they asked the same question: “How to Delay the Execution of Tooltip Function“, we have replied this question many times, we developed the wordpress tooltip function “delay the execution of tooltip function”, for support some plugins which use javascript framework like Vue, AngulaJS, or AJAX to generate dynamic content, when users open pages which content generated by these javascript framework, content will not be loaded immediately , so other plugins like wordpress tooltip cannot read the content and hook wordpress the_content API to add other effects in content which generated dynamically, for resolve this kind of problem, we developed the “How to Delay the Execution of Tooltip Function” option box in wordpress post editor metabox  and wordpress tooltip global settings panel, and we have write detailed document with step by step guide and screenshots, it seems some users never search our wordpress tooltip document, in this case, we added a new knowledge base, in wordpress tooltip “knowledge base” menu item:”How to Delay the Execution of Tooltip Function?” So users will get the FAQ easier when they install wordress tooltip plugin.

WordPress tooltip plugin is a tooltip plugin for wordpress, which be designed to help you create colorful, varied and graceful tooltip styles to present the content to your users, with lively and elegant animation effects, and save your valuable screen space.

When the users hover over an item, the colorful tooltip popup box will display with the animation effect. You can add video, audio, image, and even other content which generated by 3rd wordpress plugins like QR code, Amazon AD, Google Map in tooltip popup box via wordpress standard editor, it is very easy to use.

Also wordpress tooltip support image tooltip, when users hover an image, a pretty tooltip window will popup, you can add your image description, story, even video, links, audio… and so on for images. 🙂

MagiCards is a WordPress plugin to display some random cards on the table. Select a deck of cards in the same way you would do for a WordPress gallery, choose the number of cards to draw, the cards back-face and the number of columns for the gallery…

An amazing user using wordpress tooltip plugin and magicards plugin in her pretty site, she asked us, can we use wordpress tooltip to make image tooltip for cards made by magicards plugin?

Step by step to integrate wordpress tooltip plugin with magicards plugin, if you have installed wordpress tooltips pro plugin, please jump to step #10

1: Login your account at wordpress tooltip plugin site tooltips.org

2: Download wordpress tooltip plugin via “download” menu item

3: Login as wordpress admin in your  wordpress site

4: Click “Plugins” menu item in wordpress admin area

5: If you installed wordpress tooltips old version, please deactivate it

6: Delete the deactivated old wordpress tooltip plugin

7: In “Plugins” menu item, click add new at the top of the plugins panel

8: Upload the tooltips plugin zip file which you downloaded from wordpress glossary plugin site

9: Activate latest version of wordpress tooltip glossary plugin

10: Click “Tooltips” menu item

11: Click “Global Settings” sub menu item, you will open “Global Settings” panel

12: You will find the option: “Enable Tooltips for Image?”, please enable it and click “Update Now” blue button

13: Then in “Tooltips for Image setting” option box, please set up to use ALT attribute in image as content of tooltip window, then click “Update Now” blue buttom

14: Please click wordpress “media” menu to open wordpress media library panel

15 Then click the card image which using in the magicards plugin, to edit the image, it looks like this:

16 In front end, in your magicards page, you will find when you mouse hover the card, a tooltip window will pop-up, and the alt text is the content of the tooltip window.

17 With magicards plugin, it is better to set up wordpress tooltip position as “topmiddle” for get best image tooltip effect, you can set up tooltip position by click tooltips style menu item, then you can custom tooltip posion,  it looks like this:

Now you can use image wordpress tooltip on card images in magicards plugin, that’s all 🙂

WordPress Tooltips Plugin 13.3.2 Released

We received an amazing wordpress tooltip plugin user’s ticket, in the ticket, he reported a problem:
On the settings, each time I save the settings it keeps asking me to fill in the same number (see on the attached). I put in 0 and save. Then the next time I need to change some settings, the 0 is gone and I have to keep putting it in again and again.
Is this something you can fix in the plugin?
We did a check, and we understand what he mean is in the wordpress tooltip style settings panel, we have a few required fields, every time when users set up style of wordpress tooltips, they need filled all values of required fields, we checked the wordpress tooltip style field ” Delay the Execution of Tooltip Function” and “Delay Pop-up Like Wikipedia”, we do think users do not need to enter fields in these fields value every time, because default value is 0 milliseconds, that means by default, there are no delay milliseconds for tooltip pop up box, we have re-developed our wordpress tooltip plugin, users do not need enter the value for the tooltip style field “Delay the Execution of Tooltip Function” and “Delay Pop-up Like Wikipedia” 🙂

How to Import WordPress Tooltip From Excel CSV File, So Admin Do Not Need to Enter Tooltip Terms Manually One by One?

How to Import WordPress Tooltip From Excel CSV File, So Admin Do Not Need to Enter Tooltip Terms Manually One by One?

It is very easy to import tooltips from csv file:

Step A: Download WordPress Tooltip Plugin, if you have installed wordpress tooltip plugin please pass this step, jump to Step B directly.

1: Login your account at wordpress glossary tooltip plugin site

2: Download wordpress glossary tooltip plugin at “My account” page

3: Login wordpress admin area

4: Click “Plugins” menu item

5: Deactivated old tooltips version

6: Delete the old wordpress tooltip plugin

7: In “Plugins” menu item, click add new at the top of the plugins panel

8: Upload the tooltips plugin zip file which you downloaded from wordpress glossary plugin site

9: Activate latest version of wordpress tooltip glossary plugin

Step B Import Tooltip Terms from CSV File:

10: Click “Tooltips” menu item

11: Click “Import Tooltips” sub menu item, you will open “Import Tooltips” panel

12: Upload your csv file in “Your CSV File” upload section, it looks like this:

14 Click “Import” button

15: WordPress tooltips plugin will import your csv file and create tooltip terms automatically, then give you a red link at the bottom of the import tooltip settings panel, just click the red link, you will open tooltips list, you will find new tooltip terms has been imported

16: We have make a tooltip csv file sample for you, you can find sample.csv in the folder “tooltips-pro”, we have make sample in this csv file, you can just follow our format to build your csv file

17 In sample.csv, there are two fields, “tooltips term” and “tooltips content”, tooltips term will be imported as title of tooltips, and “tooltips content” will be imported as content of tooltips.
18 In sample.csv, we use comma “,” to split fields, if you have comma (,) in your content field, it maybe caused the import failed, the solution is use double quotes (“) to warp your content field, it looks like this: “the world, need goods”
19 In general, #3 will works well, but in your tooltip content, maybe you have double quotes (“) already, in this case, because there are a lot of double quotes (“), so import will failed again, in this case, the solution will looks like this: “the world, \”need goods\””, just add \ before your own “, it will works well
