How to Add WordPress Tooltips to the First N Matching Tooltip Term in the WordPress page? Supported by WordPress Tooltip Plugin 14.7.6

Dear WordPress Tooltip Users,  hope this message find you are doing well and having happy weekend with your family 🙂 We get an amazing wordpress tooltip user’s ticket, he said:

Tooltips Optional Settings – Disable Tooltips for Selected Classes and IDs: .wp-caption-text
what is text below inserted images. and is working, BUT when next time is tooltip word in the text, for example “NASA” it is not set as tooltip.

I expected when I disable Tooltips in selected class it will be found in other text, not totally disabled.

After requested more details, the user told us:

I was talking about other bug:

1. set this option “Tooltip Keyword Matching Mode” to “Add tooltips to the first matching keyword in the same page”

2. I have set option “Disable Tooltips for Selected Classes and IDs” to class “.wp-caption”

3. Now when the keyword first match on page is in the disabled class, keyword is not matched on second match.

– keyword “NASA” is first time in the image description and it is not matched because disabled class .wp-capttion – this is ok

– but next appearances of “NASA” are but not matched as Tooltip

Then we understand when he opt to only add tooltip effect to the first matching tooltip term in a wordpress page, and at the same time he disabled the CSS class which wrapped the first matching tooltip term, then the second matching tooltip term did not have tooltip effects 🙂

Okay, this is not a bug, and actually a simple method is use wordpress tooltip shortcode to make the wordpress tooltip effect for the second tooltip term “NASA”, but our developer said he want to improve wordpress tooltip plugin to the easiest plugin to use, so he tried to solve this problem for user, but finally, he found, because our tooltip core functions is based on php function preg_replace, and  tehe php function preg_replace have no method to match the specified Nth match! We read all documents of php function preg_replace and read many wordpress articles, we can not find the correct tools in php or in wordpress tooltip solve this problem, finally, our developer find another method: add a new option in the “Keyword Matching Mode” selection box — Add tooltips to the first N matching keyword in the same page. Then the problem can be solved in the new verison WordPress Tooltip Plugin 14.7.6 🙂

How to Add WordPress Tooltips to the First N Matching Tooltip Term in the WordPress page?

1: Login your wordpress site

2: Click “Tooltips” menu item

3: Click Tooltip Global Settings sub menu item

4: Then you will open the WordPress Tooltip Global Settings panel, you will find in panel “Keyword Matching Mode”, we have added a new option “Add tooltips to the first N matching keyword in the same page” in the “Keyword Matching Mode” select box

It looks like this:

tooltip keyword matching mode 14.7.6

tooltip keyword matching mode 14.7.6

Please try to change options in “Keyword Matching Mode” select box, when you  selected “Add tooltips to the first N matching keyword in the same page” option, then you will find a new input text box, in which you can opt to add the first N matching keyword in the same wordpress page, for example, in the case which the amazing user told us, what he need to do is just enter “2” in the input box, then because the first tooltip term effect has been disabled by his settings in the option “Disable Tooltips for Selected Classes and IDs” to class “.wp-caption”, then wordpress tooltip plugin will try to add tooltip effect to the next 2ed tooltip term 🙂

Please note, by default, the input text box will be hide, only when you selected “Add tooltips to the first N matching keyword in the same page” option, then the input text box will be displayed, if you try to select other options in the Keyword Matching Mode panel, the input text box will be hide again 🙂

This changes will effect:

wordpress tooltips core function
and
acf tooltip
bbpress tooltip
buddypress tooltip
contact form 7 tooltipwoocommerce tooltip
woocommerce tooltip
advanced woocommerce tooltip
custom tabls for woocommerce tooltip
menu tooltip
tablepress tooltip

Would you please upgrade to the wordpress tooltip plugin 14.7.6 and do a check? 🙂

Thanks, have a blessed day with your family 🙂

How to Custom the Color of the “More Details” Link of Glossary in the WordPress Tooltip Pop-up Window?

As a user of the wordpress tooltip plugin, you may know that you can choose not to load the full text of the tooltip term in the wordpress tooltip popup, you can choose to load only the excerpt of the tooltip term,in the wordpress tooltip window, and you can choose to add a “more details” link to the glossary page which have the full content text of the tooltip term in the wordpress tooltip popup window. If you have some wordpress tooltip terms which very long tooltip content, this is a great way to make the tooltip style very nice and clean 🙂

How to Disable Tooltips for Selected CSS Classes and IDS? You can Disable Tooltips for Any Element in Your WordPress Post

Dear WordPress Tooltip Users, hope this message find you are doing well and having happy weekend with your family 🙂 We get an wordpress tooltip free plugin user’s ticket, request help him disable tooltips in specific tooltip terms in his wordpress tooltip post.

When Tooltip shows up in the Table of Contents it breaks the navigational link to the point of reference in the post.  How do I disable tooltips showing up in the Table of contents, and only to show up in the post.

Also he request have a method to disable tooltips for the 15th tooltip terms and enable tooltips effect for the same tooltip terms in other sections in the wordpress post 🙂

Okay…., in the wordpress tooltips free plugin version, we do not support this yet, but with wordpress tooltips pro plugin version, in the wordpress tooltip free plugin, wordpress tooltips  can disable wordpress tooltips via options: “Disable tooltips in h1, h2, h3… links, more HTML tags”, and “Enable / disable tooltips for post excerpt”, and “enable / disable tooltips for images”, and “disable tooltips in entire site”, and “disable tooltip on mobile devices”, and “enable / disable tooltips for category title”… and so on, of course in the wordpress tooltips free plugin version, we can not support the users’ request,  but in the wordpress tooltip pro plugin, we do have an option “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” in wordpress tooltip optional settings panel, it looks like this:

disable wordpress tooltip for selected css classed and ids and html tagsAs you can see, in Tooltips Optional Settings panel, there are the “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” option, you can enter CSS Classes and IDs(split with comma “,”) in here,  in front end, we will remove tooltip effects from selected classed and ids 🙂

So if you want to disable tooltips for the 15th tooltip term in the wordpress post, and keep tooltips effect in other same tooltip terms, just edit your wordpress posts, add an span class for the 15th wordpress tooltip term, for example, “<span classs=’wanttoremovetooltipeffect’>your keyword</span>”, and input the class “.wanttoremovetooltipeffect” in the “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” option, then in the front end, all tooltip term that be wrapped in the span class “.wanttoremovetooltipeffect” will have no tooltip effect. Of course, you can use more html tags, for example, div, p, h5,h1… and so on, it will works well too 🙂

Or if your tooltip terms in a section which generated by a 3rd wordpress plugin, in general, their content will be wrapped by their div, what you need to do is just open your browser, then open the wordpress page in the browser, enter F12, then you will open browser inspector, just move your mouse to point to the section that generated by the 3rd wordpress plugin, you will find the div id or div class… and so on, just copy it and enter the class or id in the “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” option, then all wordpress tooltip term in this section will remove tooltip effects on the front end 🙂

We are adding this disable wordpress tooltip for selected class and ids feature to wordpress tooltip free version, you will see it soon, hope this help more wordpress tooltip users which have this problem 🙂

How to Customize the WordPress Glossary with a Different Style According to the Category They Belong to? Supported by WordPress Tooltip Glossary Plugin Multi-Site Version 14.6.4

DearWordPress Tooltip plugin users,  hope this message find you are doing well and having happy days with your family 🙂  An amazing wordpress tooltip user told us he want to find a method to customize the background for each wordpress tooltip glossary item in glossary page according to the wordpress tooltip category :

Hi guys, is it possible to customize tooltips differently for each category? Are there different html tags for the tooltip categories that allow meto customize the css code?

May be you known, in our wordpress tooltip plugin, we support customize style for each wordpress tooltip item, but the tooltip category is only used by tooltip glossary shortcode — which used to build a glossary page, and in the glossary settings panel, glossary users have ability to customize style for glossary elements, for example: Glossary Term Font Color, Glossary Term Font Size, Glossary Content Font Color, Glossary List Border Color, Background Color of Glossary Terms Title, Background Color of Glossary Terms Content…etc, it looks like this:

glossary settings panel in wordpress glossary plugin 14.5.4

glossary settings panel in wordpress glossary plugin 14.5.4

So as you can see, via glossary panel, you can customize wordpress glossary style just via a few mouse clicks, for avoid any  miss-understand of the user’s question, we replied:

Thanks for the message 🙂

We are very happy to help you 🙂

Sorry this is the first time we heard this kind of request, would you please tell us more details about how do you want to custom it? So we can understand it better? 🙂

Thanks, have a blessed day with your family 🙂

The user replied more details:

I should customize the tooltips with a different style according to the category they belong to.
For example, if the tooltip is assigned to “category 1” the background should have a specific colour, but if it is assigned to “category 2” the
background should have a different colour. Is it possible?

We replied:

Thanks for the reply 🙂

Understood, sorry, in the current time, we cannot do it yet, but we will try to realize this feature in future version 🙂

Thanks, have a blessed day with your family 🙂

This is why we developed a new wordpress tooltip glossary plugin version to solve it for users 🙂

In general, wordpress tooltip glossary users can build a pretty glossary page via wordpress glossary shortcode:

[glossary] , and you can use the WordPress glossary shortcode to display a wordpress glossary category separately in glossary page, just write your wordpress glossary shortcode like this:

[glossary catid='5,10,12']

Now, if you upgraded to wordpress tooltip glossary multi-site license version, you can assign specific background color for each glossary,  or each glossary category,  it looks like this:

[glossary catid='5' titlebackgroundcolor='red']

you can use the html color tag, red, blue, green, yellow…etc as backgroun color in here

or you can use css color code like this:

[glossary catid='7' contentbackgroundcolor='#963412']

or use both of html color tag and css color code:

[glossary catid='10' titlebackgroundcolor='red' contentbackgroundcolor='#963412']
