WordPress Tooltips Pro 15.3.6 Released, Support Jquery-Migrate

Hi, dear users of  WordPress Tooltip Plugin ,  hope this message find you are doing well and having happy days with your family! We get an user’s ticket, he said:

I started using Tooltips a year and a half ago, but when I looked at a website using Tooltips for the first time in a year, I found that  Tooltips was not working. I don’t know how to make Tooltips work.

Our developer checked his wordpress page URL, and in the console of the browser, we his site have a jquery error which is not caused by our wordpress tooltips pro plugin, his jquery did not loaded correctly, wordpress tooltips plugin is using jquery, so if jquery did not works well, tooltips js codes cannot works well too,  after we replied this message to the user, he replied:

I just changed the WordPress theme to Twenty Twenty-One and Tooltips Pro started working.
After that, I deleted all plugins except Tooltips and changed back to my Theme, and Tooltips does not work.
The cause of the trouble seems to be Clarity’s version upgrade. Do you think this decision is correct?

 

Because in front end, we have no way to check more details which caused the problem, we suggested the user check his theme option and so on, then the user replied:

I asked the developer of the theme to investigate, and received the following response.
Please add the following script tag (jquery-migrate) to “User definitions in <head>-</head>”.
Please add the following script tag (jquery-migrate).

Note that this will not work with scripts that use functions that have been changed or removed due to jQuery updates.
This is a jQuery module to compensate for scripts that use functions changed or removed by jQuery updates.
It is possible to modify a script (plugin author) to work with the latest version of jQuery without this extra migration module.
It should be able to work without this extra migration module.

In order to make a process that only works with the old jQuery work with the latest jQuery
To load this extra migration module in order to make a process that only works with old jQuery work with the latest jQuery is actually the opposite operation.
Please keep in mind that this is actually the opposite operation.

The cause of the bug was a jQuery incompatibility between the theme and Tooltips Pro.
The issue has been resolved, but we hope to improve the next version of Tooltips Pro so that it works with the latest jQuery.

We did a check of latest wordpress version, we found they said they will remove jquery-migrate from wordpress package, in general, wordpress users can install jquery-migrate plugin which developed by wordpress official to solve this kind of problem, but the user is right, we can add our own jquery-migrate module for help users using wordpress tooltips pro plugin more easier, to our developer re-developed our wordpress tooltips pro plugin and wordpress tooltips pro plus plugin to solve this kind of problem 🙂

If you have similar issues, please follow this way to enable jquery-migrate in wordpress tooltips pro plugin:

1: login wordpress tooltips site via your account in wordpress tooltips site

2: download latest wordrpess tooltips pro version 15.3.6, it should be a zip file

3: login wordpress as wordpress administartor

4: click plugins menu item in wordpress dashboard

5: deactivate old version of wordpress tooltips pro plugin and delete old wordpress tooltips pro plugin

6: upload the wordpress tooltips pro plugin zip file and activate it in your wordpress

7: click tooltips menu item and then click global settings sub menu item, you will open wordpress tooltips global settings panel

8: please move to the bottom of the wordpress tooltips global settings panel, you will find the new option: “enable / disable jquery-migrate”, please just select “enable jquery-migrate” option and click blue “update now” button

9: in front end of wordpress page source, you will find we have loaded jquery-migrate package for your wordpress automatically, and this kind of problem will be solved, wordpress tooltips pro will works well in your wordpress pages

10: if you do not want to load wordpress jquery-migrate, let’s say your theme have the option to load jquery-migrate already, please just select “no, let it be” option, and wordpress tooltips plugin will not load jquery-migrate package which published by jquery official team in your wordpress pages

How to let WordPress Tooltips Plugin Works Well With a Few Cache plugin?

Hi, dear  WordPress Tooltip Plugin users,  hope this message find you are doing well and having happy days with your family 🙂 In recent days we get a few wordpress tooltip free users ticket, they said they have some problems to let wordpress tooltips free plugin works well with cache plugin, we did a check and we found wordpress tooltips pro plugin works well with their cache plugin,  for example if you check our wordpress pages, you will find it is open quickly(we have many users working on our tooltip site), we are using w3 total cache and it works well with wordpress tooltips plugin. a: login to wordpress backend as wordpress admin user

b: click “tooltips” menu item in wordpress dashboard

c: click “global settings” sub menu item to open wordpress tooltips free plugin global settings panel

d: then just go to the bottom of the global settings panel, there are “move inline javascript to the footer” option,  please select “yes. move tooltip inline js to the footer” to avoid conflicts and this will speed up your pages loading speed

2: some plugins will try to defer all javascript codes, or something like “also aggregate inline JS” or “Add try-catch wrapping”, please just uncheck this kind of option then your cache plugin will works will with wordpress tooltips plugin

3: a few cache plugins have option to exclude script, it looks like this:

you can just add “jquery.qtip.js,jquery.directory.js,jquery.qtip.min.js,jquery.directory.min.js” in exclude option box, and wordpress tooltips will works well with it

4: in latest wordpress version, wordpress do not support jquery-migration again, you can just install wordpress official plugin to enable jquery migration plugin, and this problem will be solved

In general, this is the reason of problems which caused cache plugin with tooltip plugin, our wordpress tooltips is developing a new version to solve let wordpress tooltips plugin works well with this kind of cache plugin automatically, you will see it soon 🙂

Question:could you share the values of the dark theme (or the css code)

Hi, dear users of  WordPress Tooltip Plugin ,  hope this message find you are doing well and having happy weekend with your family 🙂  A developer  told us he like the dark them of wordpress tooltips pro plugin and he is try to custom the tooltip style, but he have a little trouble, he request us share the code of the wordpress tooltip dark theme with him, we know many users is using our default white blue wordpress tooltip child theme and a few users like the yellow wordpress tooltip child theme, a few users like the dark wordpress tooltip theme, we think may be more users want to custom the theme a little to match their wordpress theme, we’d like reply in here publicly for help more wordpress tooltip users 🙂

If you access the post “test”, you can see that I use the standard “dark” theme. The website is a language learning website that uses tooltips as it’s dynamic dictionary. I like how the box size changes according to the text length of the tooltip. I have not succeeded in recreating this with the custom style…
So my question is: how can I change just a few things about the “dark” theme? I would like to change font size, no underlining, colors, but the rest should stay exactly the same.

Yes! Just like we said in our document How to Auto Fit the Display Box to WordPress Tooltips Content?

After upgraded to the wordpress tooltip pro version 14.8.2, you will find in the wordpress tooltip box width field, you can enter the width value or the word “auto” in this field, if you enter the width value, then all tooltip box will have the same width with your customized box width value, if you enter “auto”, then tooltip box will auto match the tooltip content, that means, if you just enter 2 words in tooltip content area, then wordpress tooltip pop-up window will not display the tooltip box with the width 400px, it will just display about 100px to auto-match the length of the tooltip content, and get rid of the extra space in the tooltip pop-up box 🙂

How I Will be Able to Stop the Tooltips Showing Up on the Additional Page?

In wordpress tooltip pro plugin, there are a few methods that can stop tooltips showing up in a wordpress page 🙂

1: If you did not installed the latest version of wordpress tooltip plugin, please login wordpress tooltip plugin official site

2: Please click “download”  sub menu item in the left hand of the my account page,then download wordpress tooltip plugin, it is a zip file.

3: After downladed the latest wordpress tooltip plugin, please login your wordpress site admin area

4: In your wordpress admin dashboard, please click “Plugins” menu

5: If you installed wordpress tooltips free plugin or old wordpress pro plugin, please deactivate it and delete the old wordpress tooltip plugin

6: Then in the wordpress “Plugins” panel, please click “add new” link at the top of the plugins panel to install the wordpress gif tooltip plugin which downloaded from tooltips.org

7: Upload the wordpress tooltips plugin zip file which you downloaded from wordpress tooltip pro plus plugin site

8: Activate the new wordpress tooltip plugin version which you installed via plugins menu

9: Now you can disable all wordpress tooltips in any wordpress page, just edit the wordpress pages which you do not want display wordpress tooltips in wordpress standard post editor

10: In the right hand of wordpress post editor, you will find tooltips metabox, it looks like this:

11: Method 1 of stop tooltip displayed in wordpress post, if you do not want to display any wordpress tooltip in this wordpress page, please just select “Disable all tooltips in this post” and publish your wordpress page again, then all tooltips term in this wordpress page will not add tooltip effect on tooltip terms any more 🙂

12: Method 2 of stop tooltip displayed in wordpress post, if you just want stop a few specific wordpress tooltip displayed in this wordpress post, please check the option “Disable specific tooltips”, enter tooltips ID in “Disable specific tooltips” option, and save the wordpress page again, then these specific tooltips will stop pop-up wordpress tooltip window. 🙂

If you want to stop tooltip popup window in multiple tooltip terms, you can enter mutilple tooltip id in the “Disable specific tooltips” option, just  split by comma ‘,’

13: Method 3 of stop tooltip displayed in wordpress post, via method #1 and method #2, you need edit each wordpress post, if you have huge wordpress posts, that’s a lot of hard work, so we have a quick and safe package for you, check below 🙂

14: Please login wordpress as admin, and then click “Tooltips” menu item in wordpress dashboard

15: Then you can click sub menu ite “Tooltips Optional Settings”, it looks like this:

16: Now you will open “Tooltips Optional Settings” panel,  please check in “Bulk disable tooltips in post by post id” option, the option looks like this:Bulk disable tooltips in post by post id

17: You can stop all tooltips in any wordpress post in one time, just enter wordpress post ids which you do not want to display wordpress tooltip, for example: 25,99,561,1352, you can enter un-limited wordpress post ids in here, just split wordpress post ids with comma “,”, in front end, when users view your wordpress posts, tooltip will not displayed in post content any more, easy, right? 🙂

18: Method 4 of stop tooltip displayed in wordpress post, Okay, with method #1, you can stop all wordpress tooltip effects in a wordpress page, and with method #2, you can stop specific wordpress tooltip be disaplyed in any wordpress post,   via method #3, you can bulk stop wordpress tooltip effect in multiple wordpress  posts in one time, but if you want to just disable tooltips for some specific section in all wordpress tooltip? For example, if you’d like display contact form in each wordpress post — to improve sale rate in your promote pages, and in a wordpress page, you do not display wordpress tooltip effect on wordpress tooltip term “contact” in contact form, but you want to add some a warm smile with some gift in tooltip term “contact” in content of these promote pages, can we do it? Yes, check it at below:

19: In wordpress dashbard, just click sub menu item “Tooltips Optional Settings” to open “Tooltips Optional Settings” panel, and check in the option “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids”, it looks like this:

20: In the “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” option, you can enter CSS Classes and IDs(split with comma “,”) in the input box, then in the front end of wordpress posts, wordpress tooltip plugin will remove tooltip effects from selected classed and ids in wordpress content 🙂

How can I know the css class or css id of the wordpress contact form? Easy, you can just enter f12 in your browser, for example in firefox, you will find inspector tab, just click inspector tab,and move your mouse to the contact form in your wordpress post, you will get the css class of css id of the contact form, and just enter it in “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” option, that’s all, easy? 🙂

1: We found your developer added some strange codes in glosary page, these codes is not from our codes

we checked our codes carefully and we ensure these codes is not come from our side, you can see these codes is start with your language, and these customized codes caused conflicts in glossary page. It seems you have a few customized codes, we tried to check “Tooltips coder” panel in wordpress tooltip pro plugin, we did not find these customized codes, and we found you are using css here, then we tried check it and more plugins panel, but these codes is not come from these plugins,  we cannot understand how you generated these customized codes…, on our side,  as plugin author, we cannot change codes from your theme or your other plugins or your customized code, because once you upgrade your theme or plugins, these changes will lost, and — it is out of scope of our work, finally our developer tried to solve this on our plugin side, that’s why we developed a new version of wordpress tooltips pro version for you 🙂

2: We found in  wordpress glossary  settings panel, you set up the value of ” Glossary Term Font Color: ” and value of ” Background Color of Glossary Terms Title” as the same value: #1f2142 ,  by this kind of settings, actually you can not see the glossary term in the glosary table at all, your settings in glossary settings panel will not work at all, actually all style will be decided by your customized codes in the #1 at above:

3: After upgraded to the new version of wordpress tooltips pro plugin,  in glossary settings panel, please disable tooltips for the glossary term column, in the option “Enable Tooltip Effect on Left Term Column of Glossary Table”, please select disable tooltip to remove tooltips effect on glossary term column

4: Then please clear your site cache and browser cache, you will find your customized codes will works 🙂

How to Upgrade WordPress Tooltips Pro Plugin on WordPress.com?

Dear  WordPress Tooltip Plugin users, hope this message find you are doing well and having happy weekend with your family 🙂  We get a ticket from an amazing user of wordpress tooltip pro plugin, in the message, she said:

Hello,
I’d like to upgrade my old version of tooltip pro, but I’m not sure how to do it. I saw this tutorial (https://tooltips.org/how-to-upgrade-to-the-newest-wordpress-tooltips-pro/), but I’m not on wordpress.org but wordpress.com and cannot install the Duplicator plugin. I’m afraid that if I remove Tooltip pro from my extensions before installing the new version, I will lose all my settings and tooltips (for the tooltips, I exported them, but the settings I can’t). If I try to install the new version, even with the plugin disabled, it doesn’t work (it tells me that the plugin is already installed).

It’s great to know you are using tooltips pro and using wordpress.com, when you upgrade tooltips pro, no any data will be lost, would you please:
1: login wordpress.com as admin
2: click plugins menu
3: deactivate old version of tooltips pro version
4: delete old version of tooltips pro version
5: upload zip file of the latest tooltips pro plugin in plugins panel
6: activate the new version of tooltips pro plugin
7: all data and settings will be keep and it is safe 🙂

please note, we just released a new version of tooltips pro plugin, now the latest version is tooltips pro 15.3.4 🙂

How to Install WordPress Tooltips Pro Plugin on WordPress.com?

1: Login our site: wordpress tooltip plugin

2: Then you will find the “download”  menu item at the top menu bar,

3: Please download latest wordpress tooltip pro plus plugin — it is a wordpress plugin “.zip” file.

WordPress Tooltips Pro 15.3.4 Released

Hi, Dear  WordPress Tooltip Plugin users, hope this message find you are doing well and having happy days with your family 🙂

We have released wordpress tooltips pro 15.3.4 and wordpress tooltips pro plus 15.3.4, because we  get a ticket from an amazing wordpress tooltips pro plugin user, in his ticket, he said that in the glossary  page of wordpress tooltips pro plugin, have found the font color and background color have some problem, we checked his site carefully, finally we found in his site, have have some heavy customized css codes by his developer, these customized codes break the css of our wordpress tooltips pro plugin, and in his glossary panel, he set up the color of glossary terms is the same of the glossary background, so the glossary terms can not be found in his glossary… and so on, although these problems is not caused by our wordpress tooltips pro plugin, but our developer developed a new wordpress tooltips pro plugin, to avoid this kind of problem happen again, and this version of wordpress tooltips pro plugin works well with his heavy customized css codes, we tested on our side, all glossary terms and glossary background works well — with his heavy customized css codes 🙂

Please upgrade to the wordpress tooltips pro version 15.3.4 asap you can, if you have any feature request with wordpress tooltip plugin, please don’t hesitate to contact us 🙂

I followed the directions and it kinda solved the problem but there are still some issues i’ve noticed with the plugin.

I was able to remove the black box under the gif the loads with help from the theme developer.

The only thing now I’m having trouble some of the styles including underline, font family, and color. As well as where the gif loads.

Then our developer do a check, and we found these problems is caused by codes of that child-theme yet, our wordpress tooltip developer tried to solve the conflicts on our plugin side:

The problem is not caused by our plugin wordpress tooltips, the reason is in your site, there are codes which break tooltip css codes, on our site, all things works well.., our developer checked your site codes and find the reason and finally we found a solution that can be done in our tooltip codes, so our developer developed a new version for you, if you upgrade to the tooltips 15.2.6, you will find that after updated underline options, all things in front end will works well 🙂

I added the new plugin and the underline works but the color and font family are still not applying.

Fine, our developer checked their customized enfold child-theme carefully, then we find the conflicts and we released a new version for the user — although we found the conflicts is not only existed in our plugin side, it is existed by other plugins too…, in the new version, we changed codes of wordpress tooltip title color option, toolstips term color in post option, font family of wordpress tooltip content option, font family of wordpress title content option… and so on, on our side we tested in his child theme , and we ensure all things works well in that enfold child theme, that’s why we released wordpress tooltips pro 15.3.0, please upgrade to the latest version of wordpress tooltips pro plus plugin asap you can 🙂
