  1. Будь ласка, відвідайте офіційний сайт плагіна WordPress Tooltips за адресою tooltips.org. Натисніть на пункт меню “завантажити wordpress tooltip”, щоб завантажити останню версію плагіна WordPress Tooltip (версія 35.3.8 або вище).

  6. After that, return to your WordPress admin area and click on the “Wikipedia Tooltips” submenu, you will open “Wikipedia Tooltips Addon Settings” panel, it looks like this:

  7. In the dropdown box, you will find several language options. Please select the option “German Wikipedia” and click the blue submit button.

  8. In the wordpress dashboard, click on the “Tooltips” menu item. Then, click on the “Add New” submenu to open the tooltip builder.

  9. While editing tooltips in the tooltip creator, you will encounter a new metabox labeled “Wikipedia Title.” Simply enter the desired Wikipedia title in this field, and we will automatically retrieve the corresponding content from Wikipedia.org to use as the tooltip.   10.  Additionally, please remember to enter the tooltip title!

  11. Once you’re finished, click the “Publish” button in the tooltip editor.

  12. On the front end, when you hover over the tooltip term in your WordPress post, a pop-up box will display content sourced from Wikipedia.

Hi Dear users of wordpress tooltip plugin, hope this message find you are doing well and having happy weekend with your family 🙂 We got a ticket from a wordpress tooltip user, he told us he using mediawiki to build a WIKI site for EDU, and he have sync mediawiki content with wordpress custom type post “lesson”, he said he want to reuse these lesson as tooltip terms, but his WIKI have about 9,000 terms, if he add all content of mediawiki terms into wordpress tooltip, it is a super hard work, he found we have a wiki tooltip function,  so he come to here to tell us he hope wordpress tooltip can integrate mediawiki to make a mediawiki tooltip for him  🙂

Hi WordPress Tooltip Users, yesterday we reported that based on an amazing Germany tooltip user, we have released wordpress tooltip multi-site license version 14.8.4, to support German wikipedia tooltip, then we get a feedback, in which the German wikipedia tooltip user said he want speed up the wikipedia tooltips 🙂

Our wordpress tooltip developer checked the wikipedia tooltip functions in the wordpress tooltip plugin, he found when display the wikipedia tooltip, wordpress tooltip will pull the content of the wikipedia tooltip terms from the wikipedia, this will caused a delay on a slow site which can not connect to wikipedia quickly, our developer re-developed our wordpress tooltip plugin like this way:

1: At the first time to display the wikipedia , wordpress tooltip plugin will connect to wikipedia API to get content from wikipedia, and then store the content as a cache for the wikipedia tooltip term

2: Then when users hover the wikipedia tooltip terms, wordpress tooltip plugin will detect are there are a cache for the wikipedia tooltip term, if yes, wordpress tooltip plugin will use the cache content to displayed in the tooltip pop-up window, else wordpress tooltip plugin will try to get the tooltip content from the wikipedia API, and store the cache 🙂

By this way, we speed up wikipedia tooltip loading time, and we tested many times, it works well 🙂

Also we improved wikipedia tooltips sub menu item by this way:

1: By default, we will not display the wikipedia tooltips sub menu item for tooltip admin

2: When wordpress tooltip admin enabled wikipedia tooltip addon in the wordpress tooltip addon panel, we will display the wikipedia tooltips sub menu item for wordpress tooltip admins

How do I Add German WikiPedia Tooltip?

Tooltip are small popup box with multi-media information like video /  audio / image / google maps / QR code / text… and so, in the front end of wordpress, when tooltip users mouse hover the element in wordpress pages, a tooltip window will pop up, tooltip effect can be added on a  word in your wordpress post, a search form, an image in your wordpress page,  a input box in your contact form, a widget on your sidebar.. and so on, wordpress tooltip plugin can add tooltips effect on any section in your wordpress posts, if there are a css class or css id in the content of wordpress post 🙂

About Germany version wikipedia tooltip, sorry it is the first time we heard this kind of feature requests, Wikipedia tooltip addon is get content via wikipedia API, we did a quick research on wikipedia API, we found in the en.wikipedia.com, basically it will return english content, for example, apple -> apfel, but via de.wikipedia.com, it can return the correct German content, in the current time, our wikipedia tooltip just get response from
en.wikipedia.com, not included de.wikipedia.com, if you need, we can add a new option to allow admin select the language from english to german
to france… and so on 🙂

Yeah, selecting the Wikipedia language as an option would be great

Then yesterday, our developer released a new wordpress tooltip multi-site license version 14.8.4, to support German Tooltip. 🙂

Please:

1: Click wordpress tooltip plugin download link

2: Login as wordpress admin in your wordpress site

3: Click the “Plugins” menu item in wordpress admin area

4: Then please deactivated old wordpress tooltips plugin

5: Please click the “Delete” link to delete the old wordpress tooltip plugin

6: In “Plugins” menu item, click “add new” at the top of the plugins settings panel

7: Upload your downloaded zip file of wordpress tooltips plugin 14.8.4

8: Activate wordpress tooltip plugin 14.8.4

9: Please click the “Tooltips” menu item

10: Then in the tooltips sub-menu items, you will find the “Addons” sub menu item, please click addons menu item

11: You will open the “Tooltip Addons Settings” panel, it looks like this:

12: In the “Enable / Disable Wikipedia tooltips” panel, please select the option “yes, support wikipedia tooltips”, and click the blue “update now” button

13: In the tooltips sub menu-items, you will find the wikipedia tooltips sub menu item, please click it, you will open the wikipedia tooltips settings panel, it looks like this:

14: As you can see, in the wikipedia language panel,  you can select a language of the wikipedia tooltip, and click submit to set up your tooltip language,  in the current time, it support english wikipedia, and german wikipedia, we will support other wikipedia languages, for example, France wikipedia tooltip, Spain wikipedia tooltip… and so on 🙂

15: Then please click”add new” sub menu item in the tooltips sub menu items, to add new a tooltip or just edit existed  tooltip terms

16: In the right hand of the tooltip editor, there are “Wikipedia Title” metabox,please check the screenshot:

in the “Wikipedia Title” metabox, please just enter the wikipedia title in the metabox, then in the front end, wordpress tooltip plugin will pull wikipedia content of this wikipedia term from the de.wikipedia.org as the content of this tooltip term, by this way, you can add German wikipedia for your site quickly 🙂

WordPress Tooltip Free Version 7.1.9 Released

3: We received feedback from an enthusiastic user, He told us that he has a problem with wordpress tooltip plugin and needs our help, but when he clicks on the “Support Ticket” link in wordpress plugins panel, he finds that the “Support Ticket” link has been changed. 🙂

Sorry for this, After upgraded our wordpress, we found the old ticket support system cannot works well  in the latest wordpress version, we had to abandon the previous customer support system, we are developing a new customer support system ourselves, about halfway done, we will share this new customer support system with our wordpress tooltip plugin users, if you check our wordpress plugin product page, you will find that we have shared some of our developed wordpress plugin for free with our wordpress tooltip plugin user.

In the wordpress tooltip 7.1.9, we have correct the empty link of the support ticket, the new support ticket is here. Also if you check our support link, you will find are added demo of tooltip for form elements in the support link, another better tooltips for form fields demo can be found at here. Actually, our new wordpress tooltips  pro plugin support add tooltips on nearly any thing on front end page — if have have a Css class or Css ID in wordpress front end pages, more details please check tooltips for anything demo.
