How to limit the number of wordpress tooltips on a page?

Hey, dear users of WordPress Tooltip Plugin! I hope this message finds you well and that you are enjoying quality time with your family.

We recently received a couple of questions from WordPress Tooltip users. One user asked how to limit the number of tooltips on a WordPress page, while another user had a question related to keyword matching. In the latter case, the user mentioned that when the keyword initially matches an element with a “disabled” class, it doesn’t match on the second occurrence.

In response to these inquiries, we have prepared a detailed guide for WordPress Tooltip users. This guide will help tooltip editors manage and limit the number of tooltips on a WordPress post.

How to Limit the Number of WordPress Tooltips on a Page Using the WordPress Tooltips Free Plugin:

1. Start by logging into your WordPress account and navigating to the WordPress dashboard.

2. Locate the “Tooltips” menu item in the WordPress dashboard and click on it.

3. From the dropdown menu, select “Global Settings.” This will open the Tooltips Global Settings panel.

4. At the top of the Tooltips Global Settings panel, you will find the “Tooltips Keyword Matching Mode” option. Here, you can choose between two options:
– “Add tooltips to all matching keywords on the same page.”
– “Add tooltips to the first matching keyword on the same page.”

If you select select “add tooltips to all matching keyword in the same page”, wordpress tooltip will add tooltip effect on each tooltip term in the wordpress post.

If you select “add tooltips to the first  matching keyword in the same page”, wordpress tooltip will only add tooltip effect on the first tooltip keyword in the wordpress post.
Choose the option that best suits your needs, and your tooltips will be adjusted accordingly.

How to Limit the Number of WordPress Tooltips on a Page Using the WordPress Tooltips Pro Plus Plugin:

In the WordPress Tooltips Pro Plus Plugin and the WordPress Tooltips Pro Plugin, you’ll discover even more amazing functions. For instance, within the “Tooltips Keyword Matching Mode” option, there’s a third choice. You can now select “Add tooltips to the first N matching keywords on the same page.” Here’s what it looks like:

As you can see, if you choose the “Add tooltips to the first N matching keywords on the same page” option, a new input text box will appear. In this box, you can specify how many of the first matching keywords you want tooltips added to on the same WordPress page. For example, in the scenario where an amazing user asked, “When the keyword first matches on the page and is in the disabled class, the keyword is not matched on the second occurrence.” All you need to do is enter “2” in the input box, and the WordPress Tooltip Plugin will add tooltip effects to the first 2 matching keywords in your WordPress post.

We will be developing a new WordPress tooltip plugin that includes a link to this document within the ‘Tooltip Keyword Matching Mode’ option. In the future, when other WordPress Tooltip users encounter similar questions, they will be able to click on the provided link within the tooltip keyword matching mode option. This will allow them to access this document and resolve their issues quickly and easily.

Conclusion:

In general, we found the wordpress tooltip user may want to limit the number of tooltips on a page for several reasons:

Reduced Clutter: Too many wordpress tooltips can make a page appear cluttered and overwhelm readers. By limiting the number, the user can ensure a cleaner and more focused reading experience.

Performance: Adding numerous wordpress tooltips with complex content can impact page load times and performance. Limiting tooltips helps maintain a snappy and responsive website.

Content Priority: The user may want to emphasize certain terms or concepts over others. By selecting only the first N matching terms, they can prioritize the most relevant information.

Overall, this feature request likely stems from a desire to enhance the user experience by providing tooltips where they are most needed while avoiding potential drawbacks of excessive tooltip usage.

We hope this guide helps you effectively manage the number of tooltips on your WordPress posts. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you in enhancing your WordPress Tooltip experience!
