I tried to deleting the plugin and starting all over again, but after installing the plugin again all my original configuration were still there.

Is there a way to completely delete the tooltips plugin … configuration?

Could you tell me how to completely remove the tooltip plugin?

Our wordpress tooltip developer checked his ticket carefully, we think WordPress blogger might need a one-click option to reset the configuration of wordpress tooltip glossary system to easily revert the settings back to their default values. This is a good feature request, we understand bloggers often test different configurations and settings to find the most suitable setup for their website. If they want to start over or undo any changes made to the tooltip glossary system, a one-click reset option allows them to quickly revert to the initial configuration. Also in case the tooltip glossary system is experiencing issues or conflicts with other plugins or themes, resetting the configuration can help resolve these problems. By returning to the default settings, bloggers can eliminate any potential customization-related issues. We decide realize this feature request for the amazing wordpress tooltip user 🙂

How to reset wordpress tooltip glossary system configuration?

1: Please check wordpress tooltip download  to download  newest  version of wordpress tooltip pro + plugin

2: Upload the wordpress tooltip plugin (zip file) via plugins panel in your wordpress,  if you are new user of wordpress tooltip, please check our  video of how to install wordpress tooltip at:  WordPress Tooltips Video Tutorial 3: How to upload and activate wordpress tooltips pro plugin

3: Log in your wordpress site as admin, in wordpress dashboard, please click on Tooltips menu item, then click “Reset Tooltips” sub menu item, you will open Reset Tooltips panel, it looks like this:

4: As you can see, we added a new option “Reset Tooltips System Configuration” panel, what you need to do is just click “Reset Configuration” blue button, then wordpress tooltip plugin will reset Tooltips Configuration, include tooltip global / optional settings, wordpress tooltip style settings, wordpress glossary settings, wordpress directory settings , wordpress bullet screen settings…etc 🙂

Please note:

1: WordPress tooltip plugin, will not change anything of existed tooltip posts.

After careful consideration, we will not reset the settings related to wordpress tooltip post content, because that is the hard work of many wordpresss blogger for Many years, and we have to protect those who do not understand the consequences, we had to protect their hard works, think if you simply press a button and then several years of work is gone forever, that’s really terrible, so we will not touch any existing tooltip posts, if you want to delete wordpress tooltip post, you can manually delete them inside the “ALL TOOLTIPS” panel. So we won’t touch any existing wordpress tooltip posts,  again, if you want to remove wordpress tooltip post, you can remove them manually by this way:

a: login wordpress as admin

b: click tooltips menu in wordpress back-end

c: click “ALL TOOLTIPS” sub menu item, in all tooltips panel, you can delete all tooltips manually

2: Please note, once you click “Reset Configuration”, all wordpress tooltip / glossary / directory…etc system settings will be removed instantly, so that means you need re-do many settings work, not only tooltip style, but also include enable jquery migration, move tooltip js code to footer, select tooltip and glossary …etc, we have hundreds of setting options, after careful consideration, we decide just delete about 200 setting options, but this is a hard work to reset 200 setting options in wordpress tooltip back-end again,   before you click “Reset Configuration”, think more /  try  more is a better choice?

3: In the current time, the reset tooltip configuration will only existed in wordpress tooltip pro plus plugin, because tooltips pro version have many difference with wordpress tooltips pro plus version, after get the amazing wordpress tooltip user’s request, our developer lost weekend and sleep to finish the new version asap we can, it is our 04:29am morning, we did many tests work and write detailed document for this update, lost all sleep and weekend, in the current time, we still have a lot of other feature request need to finish asap we can, so once we have a free time, we will develop this function for wordpress tooltips pro version.
