How to Import WordPress Tooltip From Excel CSV File, So Admin Do Not Need to Enter Tooltip Terms Manually One by One?

We get a user’s ticket, in which he asked us:

How to Import WordPress Tooltip From Excel CSV File, So Admin Do Not Need to Enter Tooltip Terms Manually One by One?

It is very easy to import tooltips from csv file:

Step A: Download WordPress Tooltip Plugin, if you have installed wordpress tooltip plugin please pass this step, jump to Step B directly.

1: Login your account at wordpress glossary tooltip plugin site

2: Download wordpress glossary tooltip plugin at “My account” page

3: Login wordpress admin area

4: Click “Plugins” menu item

5: Deactivated old tooltips version

6: Delete the old wordpress tooltip plugin

7: In “Plugins” menu item, click add new at the top of the plugins panel

8: Upload the tooltips plugin zip file which you downloaded from wordpress glossary plugin site

9: Activate latest version of wordpress tooltip glossary plugin

Step B Import Tooltip Terms from CSV File:

10: Click “Tooltips” menu item

11: Click “Import Tooltips” sub menu item, you will open “Import Tooltips” panel

12: Upload your csv file in “Your CSV File” upload section, it looks like this:

14 Click “Import” button

15: WordPress tooltips plugin will import your csv file and create tooltip terms automatically, then give you a red link at the bottom of the import tooltip settings panel, just click the red link, you will open tooltips list, you will find new tooltip terms has been imported

16: We have make a tooltip csv file sample for you, you can find sample.csv in the folder “tooltips-pro”, we have make sample in this csv file, you can just follow our format to build your csv file

17 In sample.csv, there are two fields, “tooltips term” and “tooltips content”, tooltips term will be imported as title of tooltips, and “tooltips content” will be imported as content of tooltips.

18 In sample.csv, we use comma “,” to split fields, if you have comma (,) in your content field, it maybe caused the import failed, the solution is use double quotes (“) to warp your content field, it looks like this: “the world, need goods”

19 In general, #3 will works well, but in your tooltip content, maybe you have double quotes (“) already, in this case, because there are a lot of double quotes (“), so import will failed again, in this case, the solution will looks like this: “the world, \”need goods\””, just add \ before your own “, it will works well
