How to Enable / Disable Glossary Search Bar on WordPress Tooltip Glossary Page?

Hey dear WordPress tooltip users, hope this message find you are doing well and have happy days with your family. 🙂 We get a ticket from a wordpress tooltip glossary user, in which he asked us a question, how can I disable search bar on glossary page? He said he is using a four-column wordpress theme, and the wordpress page was already full of widgets and lots of ads, and he didn’t want to display so many widgets in the main content area that users wouldn’t be able to find the core content — which is the life and revenue source of the site, so he wanted to keep the wordpress glossary page as simple as possible, For example, turning off the glossary search box 🙂

Okay, we have added this function for another wordpress glossary user based on another reason, in a very old version Support Display or Hide Glossary Search Bar in Glossary Page, WordPress Tooltip Glossary Plugin 14.3.2, wordpress glossary plugin editor can hide glossary search bar via one click, this is our answer:

Support Display or Hide Glossary Search Bar in Glossary Page, WordPress Tooltip Glossary Plugin 14.3.2

WordPress tooltip glossary plugin 14.3.2 released

Hi dear wordpress tooltip plugin users, hope this message find you are doing well and have happy days with your family, we are happy to report you, we just released wordpress glossary Plugin 14.3.2, in the wordpress glossary plugin 14.3.2, we added a new option in wordpress glossary settings panel to support display or hide glossary search bar in glossary page, via one click in wordpress glossary settings panel 🙂

What’s new in the wordpress tooltip glossary plugin 14.3.2?

We get an amazing user’s ticket, in which he told us he hope have an option in wordpress glossary settings panel to hide glossary search bar:
Hello and good day!
In my glossary page, I have two comments:
1.is possible hide the Search bar? Can this be a option in Glossary Settings ?
We replied:
Thanks for the suggestion, we will add an new option to display or hide search bar in glossary page 🙂
Actually, when users use our [glossary] shortcode to build a wordpress glossary page, he can display and hide glossary search bar with this method:
[glossary searchform='no']
or
[glossary searchform='yes']
By default, if you just use glossary shortcode [glossary], it means glossary page will display glossary search form 🙂
Our developer checked the ticket and he think many users like a option which can set up glossary search form just via one link in back end in one time, then users do not need enter searchform = no or searchform = yes every time, this is a great idea, that’s why we developed wordpress tooltip plugin 14.3.2 🙂
If you upgrade to the wordpress glossary plugin 14.3.2, in back end, if you click tooltips menu item, and click glossary settings sub menu item, you will open the glossary settings panel, it looks like this:
wordpress glossary custom setitngs panel in wordpress tooltip glossary version 14.3.2

wordpress glossary custom setitngs panel in wordpress tooltip glossary version 14.3.2

At the bottom, you will find the new option “Display Glossary Search Form?”, if you click “YES”, then the glossary search form will displayed at the top of the glossary table, if you click “NO”, then the glossary search form will be hide in the wordpress glossary page 🙂
Please note, wordpress glossary users can use [glossary searchform='no'] or [glossary searchform='yes'] to display or hide glossary search form too, and the priority of the short code is higher than the option value set in the backend, because we want to keep more options available for page builder users 🙂
Thanks for the great suggestion, if you have any question or suggestion of wordpress tooltip plugin, please don’t hesitate to tell us 🙂
Thanks, have a blessed day with your family 🙂
Best Regards,

Our wordpress glossary plugin have a shortcode [glossary], just insert this wordpress golssary shortcode into any wordpress post or page, you will make a glossary page quickly, you can check glossary at our wordpress glossary plugin demo,  also since wordpress glossary plugin 8.8.8,[glossary] shortcode support a glossary search form at the top of wordpress glossary table, glossary users can search glossary keyword in glossary search form, and wordpress glossary will show search result in glossary result list for the user.

Now, based on users feature request, our [glossary] shortcode support enable / disable glossary search form on the top of glossary list.

How WordPress Glossary Plugin Shortcode Search Form Parameter Works?

By default if you using [glossary] shortcode in any wordpress pages or wordpress posts, wordpress tooltip glossary plugin will show a search form at the top of the glossary list, however, you can disable glossary search form by:

[glossary catid='3' searchform='no']

Or

[glossary searchform='no']

Or

[glossary catname='love' searchform='no']

and so on, then in wordpress glossary list, we will not show search form at the top of the glossary list.

Of course, by default, [glossary] shortcode will show glossary search form at the top of glossary list,  we added this parameter is just based on the consideration of maybe some users don’t want to have search form in glossary page, so we added this glossary search form parameter as an option to help you custom your glossary page.

In general, search form will show on wordpress glossary page by default, you do not need add search form option in glossary parameters,  but if you want, you can use:
[glossary catid='3' searchform='yes']

yet, this will add search form at the top of glossary list, although this parameter is not needed. 🙂
