I added my OpenAI API key to ToolTips, but every time I try to create an AI post with a simple prompt that works in ChatGPT, ToolTips responds with: “We cannot get response from OpenAI”.

My OpenAI account shows zero usage, as if ToolTips has no integration with OpenAI. I tried a new API key, same problem. Does anyone else have this issue?

After received the ticket, to prevent any potential unexpected situations and accurately reproduce possible issues,  we installed a new wordpress site and installed wordpress tooltips pro plus plugin 22.3.8,  then we got a new OpenAI account to check are there any problem, after a few times test,  we found all things works well always. We create a few screenshots:

1: in AI tooltips menu item, we tried to generated wordpress cnotent from OpenAI ChatGPT automatically:

And in wordpress tooltip editor, we found the new wordpress tooltip that generated via OpenAI chatgpt:

we did not use current site, we did not use existed OpenAI API key, and all things still works well. We asked another webmaster, he said AI tooltip works well in his site too 🙂

We did a few research, and we found some suggestion:

1: In some cases, OpenAI may restrict access to its API, which could be due to abnormal behavior with your API key or excessive request frequency.

2: It is also possible that your host IP has been blocked by OpenAI, this may because another site using the same IP and when their engage in behavior that violates OpenAI’s API usage policies, is unwanted, or malicious, resulting in your IP address being listed on a blacklist by OpenAI

3: Some countries maybe block OpenAI URLs

In this case, you will need to contact OpenAI’s support team to resolve the issue 🙂

1: Login your account on wordpress tooltip site  — tooltips.org , then download wordpress tooltips pro plus(version >= 22.5.8)

3: In wordpress dashboard, please  click “Tooltips” menu item, then click “Optional Settings” sub menu item, at the bottom of the wordpress tooltips optional settings panel, you will find the option “OpenAI keys”, please enter  your openai api key and click update now button, the wordpress tooltips optional settings panel of wordpress tooltips pro plus 19.5.8 looks like this:

To get started with OpenAI, you can visit their website at https://openai.com/ and sign up for an API key. Once you have registered, you can use the API key to access their various products and services such as the GPT-3 natural language processing model.

In order to get an API key for OpenAI, you can follow these steps:

Visit the “API Keys” section on the OpenAI website: https://beta.openai.com/account/api-keys
Click on the “Create New API Key” button.
Follow the instructions to create a new API key.
Once created, you can copy your API key and use it to access OpenAI’s products and services.

Note that some OpenAI services, such as GPT-3, are not available to everyone and require a separate application process.

5:  Now just click tooltips menu item in wordpress dashboard and then  click “AI Tooltips” sub menu item, you will open Generate Tooltips via OpenAI settings panel, in here you can use AI to generate content of wordpress post, wordpress page, wordpress tooltip automatically. it looks like this:

6: As you can see, in the generate wordpress tooltips via openai panel, there are input text box “title”, “prompt” textarea box, max tokens input text, and publish as select box, what you need to do is:

6.1 enter a wordpress title in “title” input box, this will be published as wordpress post / page / tooltip title

6.2 In prompt textarea, Please enter your topic idea, detailed requirements, the style of the article…etc, in general, I just enter something like this: “write a long article about what is wordpress tooltip”, and AI-Writer will generate a long article about the topic idea automatically, and wordpress tooltips plugin will save the content as wordpress post  or wordpress page or wordpress tooltip for you .
