Dear WordPress Tooltip Users, hope this message find you are doing well and having happy weekend with your family 🙂 We get an wordpress tooltip free plugin user’s ticket, request help him disable tooltips in specific tooltip terms in his wordpress tooltip post.
When Tooltip shows up in the Table of Contents it breaks the navigational link to the point of reference in the post. How do I disable tooltips showing up in the Table of contents, and only to show up in the post.
Also he request have a method to disable tooltips for the 15th tooltip terms and enable tooltips effect for the same tooltip terms in other sections in the wordpress post 🙂
Okay…., in the wordpress tooltips free plugin version, we do not support this yet, but with wordpress tooltips pro plugin version, in the wordpress tooltip free plugin, wordpress tooltips can disable wordpress tooltips via options: “Disable tooltips in h1, h2, h3… links, more HTML tags”, and “Enable / disable tooltips for post excerpt”, and “enable / disable tooltips for images”, and “disable tooltips in entire site”, and “disable tooltip on mobile devices”, and “enable / disable tooltips for category title”… and so on, of course in the wordpress tooltips free plugin version, we can not support the users’ request, but in the wordpress tooltip pro plugin, we do have an option “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” in wordpress tooltip optional settings panel, it looks like this:
As you can see, in Tooltips Optional Settings panel, there are the “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” option, you can enter CSS Classes and IDs(split with comma “,”) in here, in front end, we will remove tooltip effects from selected classed and ids 🙂
So if you want to disable tooltips for the 15th tooltip term in the wordpress post, and keep tooltips effect in other same tooltip terms, just edit your wordpress posts, add an span class for the 15th wordpress tooltip term, for example, “<span classs=’wanttoremovetooltipeffect’>your keyword</span>”, and input the class “.wanttoremovetooltipeffect” in the “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” option, then in the front end, all tooltip term that be wrapped in the span class “.wanttoremovetooltipeffect” will have no tooltip effect. Of course, you can use more html tags, for example, div, p, h5,h1… and so on, it will works well too 🙂
Or if your tooltip terms in a section which generated by a 3rd wordpress plugin, in general, their content will be wrapped by their div, what you need to do is just open your browser, then open the wordpress page in the browser, enter F12, then you will open browser inspector, just move your mouse to point to the section that generated by the 3rd wordpress plugin, you will find the div id or div class… and so on, just copy it and enter the class or id in the “Disable tooltips for selected classed and ids” option, then all wordpress tooltip term in this section will remove tooltip effects on the front end 🙂
We are adding this disable wordpress tooltip for selected class and ids feature to wordpress tooltip free version, you will see it soon, hope this help more wordpress tooltip users which have this problem 🙂
