How to Disable Tooltips for Images and Enable Tooltips for Icons?

Hey Dear users of  WordPress Tooltip plugin, hope this message find you are doing well and having happy days with your family 🙂  We get a ticket from an amazing wordpress tooltip user, in which he told us he want to disable tooltips for images, but allow tooltips for icons in his wordpress posts, he said:

Hi! I love your plugin and want to use it for this usecase: my client has some icons he wants to explain to users via tooltip on hover.
However now all images show the alt-text as tooltip (as you mentioned in the desc). How can a avoid that?

Let me pick up this issue after my holidays.

I activated „Enable Tooltips for image setting”
Startpage:
You see, that on the portfolio-items the tooltipps appear (which I dont want)
I want to use it only for the icon-items you see in the right column (Golfplatz and Golf Unlimited)
I added those as entries at tooltips in the page.

So basically tooltips for images should be disabled, except those icons.

Our developer have checked your URL, we understand what you want, the problem is in the free version, we have no this option yet, but in the tooltips pro or tooltips pro plus version, you will have two method to do it:
1: You can use advanced image tooltip settings to do it, you can find a demo and detailed document at:

By default, we using ALT content as tooltip content, but you can use content of REL content as tooltip content… and so on

So basically, wordpress tooltips plugin will use content of ALT attribute of images as your wordpress tooltip content, if you do not want to add tooltips for images, you can just:

1: login as admin of your wordpress site

2: in wordpress dashboard, click tooltips menu item

3: then click global settings sub menu item, you will open wordpress tooltip global settings panel, it looks like this:

In the screenshot of wordpress tooltip global settings panel, you will find there are option “Enable Tooltips for Image”, if you do not want add tooltips for images, then just opt to disable tooltips for images, then it’s okay 🙂

Or if you want keep tooltips for images, but you do not hope image tooltips displayed by default, just go to “Tooltips for Image setting” option in the screenshot, and select to “use REL attribute in image tags as content of tooltip for image”

If you are using wordpress DIVI theme, or Elementor theme, and you want to add tooltip effect for icons, just use our shortcode icon_tooltip_by_id shortcode
