How to let lists shown in wordpress glossary and wordpress tooltip popups?

I have a problem that lists are shown in the glossary, but are not shown in the tooltips popups.

We understand the user want to display an unordered list (ul) with list items (li) in a tooltip popup, we understand displaying a lot of information directly on a page can clutter the layout and overwhelm users. By using a tooltip to show a list, the user can present information in a more compact form, keeping the main content area clean and organized. 🙂

We did a test on our wordpress tooltip site, and we found it works well, we can display unordered list (ul) with list items (li) intooltip popups, we tested all options, then we found this is due to a setup issue, we think more users have similar question, we’d like write a detailed document for wordpress tooltip plugin users 🙂

How to display lists in wordpress tooltip popups?

1: login your wordpress site as admin

2: in wordpress dashboard, click tooltips menu item, then click optional settings sub-menu item

3: you will open wordpress tooltip optional settings panel, it looks like this:

4: As you can see, in wordpress tooltip optional settings panel, there are option ” Tooltip Excerpt or Full Content”, if you select option “Use Full Content in Pop Up Box”, then wordpress tooltip plugin will display an unordered list (ul) with list items (li) in tooltip popups, if you select “Use Tooltip Excerpt in Pop Up Box”, then wordpress tooltip plugin will call wordpress excerpt to display excerpt in wordpress tooltip popup, in this case, unordered list (ul) with list items (li)  will be ignored by wordpress excerpt function 🙂

WordPress tooltips 23.3.8 released, improved the function of tooltip synonyms

We got an amazing wordpress tooltip user’s ticket, in which he said:

Hi there, I am having a problem with the synonyms while making a glossary. When using more than one seperated by the | symbol, none show up on the page.

Sorry for the problem, this is the first time we heard this kind of problem, our wordpress tooltip developer tested all options in wordpress tooltip settings panel, but all things works well always, finally we believe the user is using wordpress tooltip synonyms with a specify method, then we  tried to enter all kinds of strange things in the tooltip synonyms metabox,  then we found if we do not follow tip of tooltip synonyms and enter a lot of space,  we can re-play the problem, it looks like this:

As you can see, what we entered in the tooltip synonyms metabox is ” delete | first | second “, this caused error, in the tooltip synonyms metabox, we have the top: ( separated by ‘|’ ) , so correct format is:
“delete|first|second”, we guess maybe more users would like enter synonyms like ” delete | first | second “, so our developer released a new version wordpress tooltips pro plus 23.3.8 to solve this problem, please note, we will only removes spaces from the begin and end of the each synonyms, if there are consecutive spaces within the string, whey will be preserved 🙂

An amazing wordpress tooltip user gold us, she like our glossary function and she just used glossary functionality in their hospital, she hope disable wordpress tooltip functionality and only enable wordpress glossary functionality:

Just noticed that the glossary nav bar does not show unless we have  the – Global Setting: Disable Tooltip in Entire Site – enabled (so
not disabled).

Is there a way to have it disabled?

How to disable wordpress tooltip functionality and only enable wordpress glossary functionality?

Our wordpress tooltip developer developed a new version wordpress tooltips free 8.1.1, in wordpress tooltips free 8.1.1, we added new panel : “Disable Tooltips Functionality on Front-End and Allow Glossary Functionality”, it looks like this:

As you can see, at the bottom of wordpress tooltip global settings page, there are new panel “Disable Tooltips Functionality on Front-End and Allow Glossary Functionality”, in the new panel, there are option “Disable Tooltips and Enable Glossary?”, if you want to disable tooltip functionality in front-end, please select “yes, disable tooltip and enable glossary”, then in the front-end of wordpress tooltip site, all tooltips  effects in the content of wordpress post will be stopped, and in wordpress glossary page, you will see glossary list works well. 🙂

By default, wordpress tooltip plugin will enable tooltip functionality and glossary functionality, so in general, you do not need to settings this option 🙂

If you have set up to disable wordpress tooltip function in your wordpress tooltip site, but you want to enable wordpress tooltip functionality again, then go to wordpress tooltip global settings page, then in the panel “Disable Tooltips Functionality on Front-End and Allow Glossary Functionality”, please select the option “no, enable tooltip and enable glossary”, then in wordpress posts, when user mouse hover wordpress keyword, wordpress tooltip popup will works well again 🙂

Conclusion:

A few wordpress tooltip user told us they like our glossary functionality to build their knowledge-base in their hospital or just use our glossary functionality to build a dictionary site, they hope have a method to disable or enable wordpress tooltip functionality in backend, in the version wordpress tooltip free plugin 8.1.1, we realized this function for wordpress tooltip free users 🙂
