How to Add a Pretty Glossary in Your WordPress?

What is glossary?

A glossary will display a collection of keywords with their description in a table, with the alphabetical order, in general, users use it as a dictionary or lexicon, as a quick reference for complex technical subject or language or definitions, to help reader understand the meaning of specific terms.

How to Add a Pretty Glossary in Your WordPress?

With wordpress glossary plugin, you can create a pretty glossary in your wordpress wordpress with a few minutes, just a few clicks 🙂

1: If you didn’t installed wordpress tooltip, please login your account at wordpress glossary tooltip plugin site, if you have installed wordpress tooltip plugin, please jump to step #10 directly 🙂

2: Download wordpress glossary tooltip plugin at “My account” page

3: Login wordpress admin area

4: Click “Plugins” menu item

5: Deactivated old tooltips version

6: Delete the old wordpress tooltip plugin

7: In “Plugins” menu item, click add new at the top of the plugins panel

8: Upload the tooltips plugin zip file which you downloaded from wordpress glossary plugin site

9: Activate latest version of wordpress tooltip glossary plugin

10: Click “Tooltips” menu item

11: Add your glossary terms and description in glossary editor, you can add any video / audio / google map / qr codes… and so on in the glossary content 🙂

12: Create a new wordpress page or wordpress post, and insert the glossary shortcode like this:

13: In front end, you will see the glossary page, it looks like this:

14: If you want to select a pretty glossary template for your glossary, just click “glossary settings” sub menu

15: You will open the glossary settings panel, and you can select a pretty glossary template from glossary template selector, it looks like this:

16: Also, via the screenshot of glossary settings panel, you can see, actually you can custom a unique pretty glossary style for yourself, just via a few clicks 🙂

17: By default, the glossary language is English, but you can Custom Languages for Your WordPress Tooltips and WordPress Glossary

18: Also you can use glossary category filter to build glossary for multiple languages, for example, you can add English glossary terms in English category and add German glossary terms in German glossary category

19: Please note, if you want to build a wordpress glossary page via glossary shortcode, please do not select this page as glossary index page, please remember, the glossary index page will display all glossary items with links in the glossary index page, which will help users click glossary items which listed in glossary index page to open detailed content, and this glossary index page will improve your SEO ranks in google 🙂

20: Also you can Enable / Disable WordPress Tooltips in WordPress Glossary Page .

WordPress Tooltips Pro Plugin 14.2.6 Released, Improved WooCommerce Glossary and Glossary Shortcode

Changes in WordPress Tooltip Glossary Plugin:

1: Woocommerce Glossary new option “Number of Glossary Items display in WooCommerce Product Tabs”

We got a ticket from a woocommerce glossary user who said that the new addon “woocommerce glossary” is a very good feature that helps him show more details of the product with an elegant way in the limited space of the product page, which helps to increase the sales of the woocommerce product.

And he especially like the feature that woocommerce glossary support only show specific woocomemrce glossary category, but his problem is that he wrote many woocommerce glossary items, so he want to have an option to allow woocommerce store manager to decide how many woocommerce glossary items to show in woocommerce glossary tab

This is the great feature reqeust, we have re-developed the our woocommerce glossary addon to allow woocommerce store manager to custom the number of woocommerce glossary items in the woocommerce glossary settings panel, it looks like this:

By default, when woocommerce store manager add enabled woocommerce glossary tab in his woocommerce product pages, we will show all woocommerce glossary items in the woocommerce glossary tab, an example looks like this:

But if woocommerce shop manager entered the woocommerce glossary number in the option “Number of Glossary Items display in WooCommerce Product Tabs”, wordpress tooltip pluginwill display only the specified number of woocommerce glossary items in woocommerce glossary tab, it looks like this:

2: WordPress glossary shortcode support displaying only a specific number of glossary items in glossary page

Our wordpress glossary developer think that the new feature is not only for woocommerce stores, but in fact all glossary should support this feature – just show the specified number of glossary on the glossary page, so we re-developed our glossary shortcode to support this function, since wordpress glossary 14.2.6, you can use the [glossary] like this:

[glossary limit=10]

If you want to display all glossary items in the glossary page, just remove the “limit” and use [glossary] directly 🙂

3 Fixed a bug of wordpress tooltip shortcode tooltip_by_id in wordpress tooltip plugin

An amazing user found, under some specific settings, some special characters will appear, we have find the reason and fixed this problem in wordpress tooltip plugin, thanks for the great bug report 🙂

How to Customize Tooltip Style For Tooltip ShortCode?

Hope this message find you are doing well and have happy days with your family! 🙂 We get a wordpress tooltip plugin user’s support ticket, in which he asked us the question “I want the bold white text at the top of the tooltip to be the tooltip Title, so that I can style it. > This is what I am using at the moment: [tooltips keyword="WP tooltip" content="wordpress tooltip plugin"]“
This is a good question, actually, we have a easier method to help wordpress tooltip user to customize tooltip style for tooltip shortcode, include customize tooltip title font color, title font size, tooltip title background color… and so on in your tooltip shortcode, via wordpress tooltip shortcode [tooltip_by_id] , just a few steps 🙂

What is WordPress Tooltip Plugin?

How Can I Customize WordPress Tooltip Style For Tooltip ShortCode?

In the screenshot, you can find tooltip title font color, title font size, tooltip title background color… etc. Basically, you can customize every single property of the wordpress tooltip 🙂

12: If you want to customize a unique, beautiful tooltip template for each wordpress tooltip term, that’s easy too

12.1 Click “Add New” sub menu item under the Tooltip menu item

12.2 You will find you can custom unique style for each tootip, via “custom unique style for this tooltip” metabox which at the bottom of the tooltip editor,it looks like this:

13: After customized tooltip style for the tooltip term, then use the shortcod tooltip_by_id to display it in front end.

By this way, you can customize unique style for each  tooltip shortcode, not only wordpress tooltip title, but also wordpress Tooltip Box Width, Tooltip Font Color, Tooltip Background, Tooltip Padding, Tooltip Position, Tooltip Radius, Tooltip Border, Tooltips Popup Animation … etc 🙂

For example:

What’s new in wordpress tooltip free plugin 7.3.7?

We get a wordpress tooltip user’s ticket, in which he asked us the question:
“I like the plugin very much, but I cannot find a way to use tooltips in categories, here woocommerce product-categories.
Is there a way to embed the tooltips with a shortcode or sth similar so that I don’t have to hardcode it?”
We replied the user, we have the similar function with out wordpress tooltips pro version already — wordpress tooltips pro 7.5.0 which released in 2018. , The 1st changes in 36 changes is:
* New wordpress tooltip shortcode , you can get tooltip by id like this:
[tooltip_by_id tooltip_id='222'], ‘222’ is tooltip id, you can find tooltip id at tooltips WYSWYG editor, the URL looks like this: http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tooltips, when you mouse hover the link edit under each tooltip post, you will find links like this:
http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=222&action=edit, the 222 is your tooltip id
Via the wordpress tooltip shortcode [tooltip_by_id], you can edit multimedia content in wordpress tooltip WYSWYG editor, and insert tooltip effect into the page builder (gutenberg / elementor / beaver / visual composer…), or any wordpress posts / wordpress pages, or other amazing plugins like woocommerce, wpform, contact form 7, tablepress, pricing table… and so on. 🙂

5: Then under the tooltips menu item, you will find a new sub menu item “woo glossary”

7: you will open woocommerce glossary settings panel, it looks like this:

8: In the option “glossary category in woocommerce product tabs:, you will find you can opt to display all glossary items in woocommerce product glossary tab, or do not display any glossary items in woocommerce product glossary tab, or show specified glossary items from a glossary category — when you add / edit a glossary in tooltips editor, you can select the category for that tooltip term .
9: Once you clicked submit button, in front end, you will find in the woocommerce product tab, there are glossary tab, if you click glossary tab, you will find the glossary show in the content area in the woocommerce product tab, it looks like this:

10: In glossary style sub menu item, you can custom font color, background color, font family …. and so on

WooCommerce Tabs Plugin 1.0.5 Released

What’s new in WooCommerce Tabs Plugin 1.0.5?

We get a feature request from amazing user of woocommerce tab plugin, in his ticket, he reported that, he have about 2000 products in his woocommerce site, and in a few products, he have added a few tabs via our tabs for woocommerce plugin, for some reason, he want to hide these woocomemrce tabs in product pages, he need time to edit content of woocommerce tabs again, he are worry about if he deactivated our woocommerce tab plugin, he have no way to edit content of woocommerce tabs, so he hope have a method to disable woocommerce tabs temporarily, but he still can edit the content of woocommerce tabs in back end 🙂
We have re-developed our woocommerce tabs plugin to realize his feature request, now if you upgraded to woocommerce tabs plugin 1.0.5, you will find a new menu “product tabs global settings”, if you click the menu, you will open product tabs global settings panel, in which you will find the new option “Temporarily Turn off All Featrures”, if you want to hide all woocommerce tabs from product, just checked the “Temporarily Turn off All Featrures” option, then all woocommerce tabs will be removed from your woocommerce products, but you can still edit content of these woocommerce tabs in woocommerce tabs editor 🙂

A wordpress faq plugin user give us a note, in which he said he love our wordpress faq plugin, because he can select multiple FAQ templates for his wordpress sites, and can display multiple wordpress FAQs grouped by FAQ category, in one page, after upgraded our last wordpress faq plugin version 3.6.5, he found new version of wordpress FAQ plugin have ability to limit faq items display number is a good feature, so it is good to use on his woocommerce product pages, and still keep a fast product page load speed, but after added faq in woocommerce product description and short description section, he think the best place to add a woocommerce product faq is on the product tab, he asked us is it possible add wordpress faq on woocommerce plugin product tabs?
We analyzed woocommerce product tabs, we found it need integrate woocommerce tab APIs, else there are no way to add any custom post type in woocommerce product tab directly, that’s why we developed the new version wordpress faq plugin 3.6.7, to realize the feature request of woocommerce faq 🙂
Now if you upgraded to the wordpress faq plugin 3.6.7, you will find in wordpress FAQ global settings panel, we have added a new option: “Enable Woocommerce F.A.Q Tab”,  it looks like this:

In “FAQ Global Settings” panel, you set up to display / hide F.A.Q tab in woocommerce product tabs via “Enable Woocommerce F.A.Q Tab” option.

What’s new in wordpress tooltips pro plugin 14.1.8?

We get a wordpress tooltip user’s message,he said he is doing SEO A/B testing for his website, he wants to show some tooltip terms on different pages, but with different content and style of tooltip, he wants to know which tooltip terms are most liked by users and which tooltip terms have how many views, so that he can adjust the style of tooltip window according to user’s preferences, and adjust the content of the tooltip popup window in the way that the user likes. 🙂
This is a good idea, we used to have count module for tooltip term to count the actual number of displays, but because we found some conflicts after we upgraded the javascript package, we disabled it, this time after receiving this user’s feature request, our developers spent some effort to research and resolve these conflicts, and finally we re-enabled the wordpress tooltip’s display statistics feature :)If you upgraded to wordpress tooltips plugin 14.1.8, when you view tooltip terms in back end, you will find it looks like this:
You can see, in “all tooltips” panel, there are a column “Hits”, if users mouse hover a tooltip term or click a tooltip term (based on your method of how to display tooltip option in “tooltip style” panel),  we will send the number of user click requests to the database in the backend using javascript ajax function, and show the hits in the back end 🙂
Please upgrade to wordpress tooltip pro plugin 14.1.8 and enjoy the wordpress tooltip hits statistics function 🙂

What’s new in the WordPress Faq Plugin 3.6.5

We get an WordPress Frequently Asked Questions Plugin user’s ticket, in the message, he told us, in the current time, he can use our “FAQs grouped by category” function to build many kinds of faq items for his site, for example, word faq, excel faq… and so on, by shortcode [faq catid=1], [faq catid=2]… and so on.
The problem is, now, he have write a lot of faq items for each faq categories, he hope do not show all faq items to reader, it is too long to read, he hope have a method to display only the specified number of wordpress faq items, for example, in word faq, he want to just display 10 faq items, for excel faq, he want to display all faq items for the reader 🙂
This is a great suggestion, we have developed wordpress faq plugin 3.6.5 to support this feature, once upgraded to wordpress faq 3.6.5, you can use shortcode:
[faq limit='20'] to display only 20 faq items
or use
[faq] to display all faq items
or use
[faq catid=1 limit='10'] to display 10 faq items from faq category 1

and so on
