We received an amazing feedback from a free user of WordPress Tooltips. He reported an issue where the tooltip term “luxury gifts under $50” was not displaying correctly on the front end. While the tooltip window did appear when hovering over the term, it changed to “luxury gifts under” without displaying the text “$50” as intended.

Upon investigating the code in the WordPress Tooltip plugin, our developer discovered that the interpretation of “$50” in the PHP preg_replace function refers to the 50th match in the replacement pattern.
